I’m just begining to work my way through the latest consumer survey data that Jupiter has fielded in Europe and it is throwing up some surprises. It’s still too early to give exact numbers, but there are some interesting trends. Such as, there is a lot more illegal file sharing of movies going on than we had thought. More suprisingly, though, is that the link between file sharing of music and buying of CDs actualy seems to be weakening. i.e. that there doesn’t seem to be much of either a negative nor a postive correlation. Once all the data is processed I’ll be presenting the results at this month’s Plug.In conference in New York.
