iTunes Hits 800 000 in Europe

Apple’s iTunes store is off to flying start with self reported sales figures of 800 000 tracks in the first week of operation. Although these numbers will be boosted by pent up demand of early adopters trying out the service and they are some way off the 3.5 million tracks per week on the US store, these are impressive numbers non the less. In the context of the European market they are unprecedented and demonstrate just what kind of impact a well optimised service can have on a largely untapped market.
