Apple Don’t Get to Give Lennon a Chance

Due to Apple’s ongoing dispute with the record label of the same name John Lennon’s latest compilation ‘Working Class Hero’ is not being made available on iTunes, but is being made available on other services such as Napster. Though it is in the interest of some parties to make this look like a major blow for Apple (Apple Computers, not Apple Corps Ltd that is), don’t believe the hype. Of course it’s a shame for Apple, but it is just one album among hundreds of thousands of tracks. The big story is that Lennon with McCartney, Starr and Harrison aren’t available online. If iTunes was missing out on the Beatles then that would be big news, but they’re not…yet. Of course it’s massively in the interest of Apple to settle before that little gem rears its head.
