The deals that Google has struck with the major labels are particularly interesting in that they go significantly beyond the slick blend of enforcement and revenue generation that typifies the YouTube deals. With the Google deals other web sites that use Google’s AdSense advertising platform will be able to display videos on their sites. Revenues will be splt between the labels and the Web site publisher.

So suddenly we may be faced with the prospect of music video in every nook and cranny on the web. Which is a wlecome development, as it will get music video out to a wide audience on the web. Though I’d be a touch comcerned if I was MusicBrigade, Yahoo or AOL, as my extensive video offerings wouldn’t look quite so distinctive anymore.
